House Wine 2010 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on February 3, 2013
Best Buy! This creation of Walla Walla’s Charles Smith that now is marketed and distributed by Precept Wines in Seattle continues to be a crowd favorite for its distinctively simple labels, straightforward and approachable flavors and price. This Chardonnay opens with a perfumy and floral nose that includes notes of lemon, pineapple, banana, lychee and a something that reminds us of a dusty country road. On the palate, this is a beauty and a quaffer with clean, creamy flavors of apple, pear, melon and butterscotch. It has just enough residual sugar to take the edge off the acidity.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 4,000 cases
Alcohol: 13%
