Ryan Patrick Vineyards 2009 Syrah, Columbia Valley, $30

Bishop’s Estate Vineyard near Trinidad, Wash., in what is now The Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley, produced this juicy wine under the guidance of winemaker Craig Mitrakul. There’s very little oak or tannin to get in the way of this presentation of plum juice, blueberry, Rainier cherry, pomegranate and boysenberry notes. This release is only available in the Leavenworth tasting room.
