Martinez & Martinez 2011 May Mae Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon, Horse Heaven Hills, $16
By Great Northwest Wine on February 15, 2013
The Martinez family has been growing wine grapes in the Horse Heavens for more than 30 years, using cuttings from Mercer Ranch Vineyards (now Champoux Vineyards). Son Andrew Martinez crafts the wine at the Winemakers Loft in Prosser. This yummy rosé opens with aromas of raspberry, light plum and ample strawberry, followed by a crisp entry that leads to flavors of cherry, raspberry and strawberry. This is a perfect wine for barbecued chicken.
