Open Road Wine Co. 2011 Viognier, Wahluke Slope, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on February 17, 2013
George and Sara Papanikolaou launched their boutique winery in Bothell, Wash., in 2007. This yummy Viognier was fermented half in oak and half in stainless steel. The resulting wine opens with aromas of sweet herbs, orange, and lemon, followed by flavors of butterscotch, orange zest and a hint of grapefruit. Pair with crab, scallops or trout, as well as Moroccan dishes or even fried chicken.
