Waterbrook Winery 2009 Reserve Merlot, Columbia Valley, $24
By Great Northwest Wine on February 24, 2013
Longtime Waterbrook winemaker John Freeman used grapes from Elephant Mountain, Mirage and Canyon Vineyard Ranch for this delicious reserve-level Merlot. As we’ve come to expect from this longtime Walla Walla Valley winery, it crafts wines that are high in quality and modest in price. This tasty effort opens with aromas of cedar, pink peppercorns, chocolate and black olives, followed by flavors of cherry, coffee and milk chocolate. Enjoy with pork chops, chicken Marsala, prime rib or a meat lovers pizza.
