Whidbey Island Winery 2010 Cabernet Franc, Yakima Valley, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on February 25, 2013
Greg and Elizabeth Osenbach have been crafting delicious wines for more than 20 years near the town of Langley on Washington’s Whidbey Island. In addition to their estate vineyard, they also bring in warm-climate grapes from Crawford Vineyard near the Yakima Valley town of Prosser. This is a classic Washington Cab Franc with aromas of sweet herbs, leaves and red cherry, followed by flavors of red currant, dried cherry, cola and white chocolate. This wine is sold out at the winery, but it still might be available from Puget Sound wine merchants.
