Latah Creek Wine Cellars 2011 Pinot Gris, Washington, $11
By Great Northwest Wine on March 1, 2013
Best Buy! Mike Conway worked at Gallo and Parducci in California before migrating to Washington in 1980, where he made wine for Worden and Hogue before launching Latah Creek in Spokane. He has been crafting delicious and affordable wines ever since and now is passing the winemaking torch on to his daughter Natalie. This white is a classic Washington Pinot Gris that shows off aromas of Asian pear, apple and a bit of lemon, followed by flavors of papaya, Honeycrisp apple and tangerine on the finish. It’s a really expressive wine that will pair perfectly with fresh seafood dishes, pork chops or chicken tikka masala.
