Alexandria Nicole Cellars 2011 Destiny Ridge Vineyard Shepherd’s Mark, Horse Heaven Hills, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on March 6, 2013
Washington wineries are stepping up with more and more Rhône blends, both reds and whites. This popular white blend from Alexandria Nicole in Prosser and Woodinville leads with Roussanne (68%), followed by equal parts Marsanne and Viognier. It offers aromas of lemon, orange and slate, followed by bold flavors of Granny Smith apple, guava and lemon zest. Pair with seared scallops, baked oysters, clam chowder or a cobb salad.
