Raptor Ridge Winery 2011 Tempranillo, Oregon, $30

By on June 3, 2013

Oregon wineRaptor Ridge is in the northern Willamette Valley town of Newberg, but it reached into Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley for its Tempranillo grapes. This is Raptor Ridge’s first vintage using grapes from Folin Vineyard, a high-elevation site. The result is a delicious and robust red with aromas of charcoal, ripe cherry, black raspberry and black pepper. On the palate, it offers juicy flavors of pomegranate, Bing cherry, chocolate and slate. It’s a sturdy wine with ample tannin and acidity. This is available in the tasting room.
