malaga-springs-winery-sauvignon-blanc-2012Best Buy! Commercial fisherman Al Mathews creates a piercing Sauvignon Blanc to pair with many things from the sea, including oysters. The nose brings hints of honeydew melon, lime juice and a twist of lemon, and there’s a wide variety of fruity flavors inside. It opens with yellow grapefruit while Granny Smith apple and key lime follow in dramatic fashion. Baked apple trails in the finish. At 0.7% residual sugar, there’s nothing sweet about this.

Rating: Outstanding!

Production: 60 cases

Alcohol: 13.5%
