Smasne Cellars 2010 Three Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $68

By on February 10, 2014

smasne-cellars-logo-whiteTwo of the top vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills for King Cab — Coyote Canyon and Phinny Hill — and one of Robert Smasne’s go-to sites in the Yakima Valley (Upland Vineyard) come together for this brazen Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of dark cherry, black currant and dark chocolate evolve into reddish flavors of Montmorency cherry and red currant. Its assertive tannin structure, pomegranate acidity, moderate alcohol and blackberry finish mean this wine will reward patience shown in the cellar.
