agate-creek-cellars-merlot-labelBuilt along Agate Creek Lane in the Chehalis Valley just west of Interstate 5, John Petaja’s winery has produced an array of delicious red wines in recent years, including a stunning red blend that leads with Cabernet Sauvignon. His Merlot comes loaded with aromas of black cherry, red currant, moist earth, fresh-cut cedar and black walnut. It trends a bit darker on the palate with rich black currant and black raspberry flavors, supported by elegant tannins and delicious acidity. It was awarded a silver medal during the 2014 Capital Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition.
