Balboa Winery 2011 Mith, Walla Walla Valley, $45

By on July 18, 2014

balboa-winery-mith-2011-bottleOwner/winemaker Tom Glase teams with Mike Sharon of L’Ecole No. 41 on this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (15%) and Cabernet Franc. The concept began in 1998 during Glase’s time at L’Ecole and continues here with relationships at Waliser and Summit View vineyards, as well as his estate Eidolon planting. Ripe red fruit aromas of raspberry, pomegranate and dusty cherry spill out on the rich and juicy palate, where they are joined by notes of cocoa and vanilla. This wine earned a silver medal at the 2014 Walla Walla Valley Wine Competition.
