Zerba Cellars 2012 Wild White, Columbia Valley, $18

By on August 1, 2014

zerba-cellars-wild-white-2012-labelThis fun and light-hearted critter label from one of the Walla Walla Valley’s top producers is a serious summer white with its stripes of Semillon (30%), Riesling (26%), Roussanne (24%) and Chardonnay. Those Semillon notes kick out early in the nose of fig, backed by ripe pear, fresh-cut apple and toasted almond. Those fig notes return on the palate amid a rich structure of apples with cinnamon, followed by cleansing acidity. Enjoy with pasta and lightly grilled fish.
