By on October 23, 2014

coiled-wines-black-mamba-nv-bottleBoise native Leslie Preston continues to strike gold in competitions with her wines, including her latest blend of Petit Verdot and Syrah from Sawtooth Vineyard near Nampa. The nose comes at you with hints of chocolate sprinkles on heavy toast, pencil shavings amid black cherry and dark plum. The entry is predictable for Petit Verdot with a big, dark and rich entry of plum and cherry flavors, backed by roasted meat, dried herbs and smooth tannins. Its wonderful structure helped it earn a double gold at the 2014 Idaho Wine Competition.

Rating: Outstanding!
