Best Buy! One of Seattle’s first urban wineries continues to deliver this red at a remarkable price, especially considering the vineyard sources in the unappreciated Yakima Valley encompass Andrew Will’s estate Two Blondes, Dineen, Elephant Mountain and Sheridan. In sticking with tradition, this blend of Bordeaux varieties leads with food-friendly Cabernet Franc (44%), followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (31%) and Merlot. It’s a classic Bordeaux in the nose with dusty black cherry, boysenberry, cocoa and saddle leather. There’s a steady stream of cherry, Marionberry and cola flavors, surrounded by a sandy tannin structure and a finish of red currant and vanilla. Suggested pairings include roasted lamb or barbecued beef, but with this acidity and at that price, it’s worthy of everyday enjoyment.
