JoieFarm 2013 Re-Think Pink Rosé, Okanagan Valley, $21

By on November 19, 2014

joiefarm-re-think-pink-rose-2013-bottlePinot Noir from some of the more moderate sites in the Okanagan Valley and Gamay (40%) from historic St. Hubertus Vineyard near Kelowna are farmed specifically to make this rosé, and the results reflect that focus in the hands of Heidi Noble and Michael Dinn, who’ve developed one of the West Coast’s premier programs for aromatic wines on the Naramata Bench. Their pink turns to gold each year in competitions, starting with aromas of strawberry jam, dusty raspberry, rose petal and Jolly Rancher watermelon candy. It dances with fresh cherry and raspberry flavors on the fruity palate, accented with beautiful minerality and backed by lingering Meyer lemon in the finish to balance the residual sugar of 1%. The longer it stays in the glass, the better it gets.
