California refugee Rick Casqueiro chooses from more than 100 lots of Chardonnay (63%), Pinot Noir (19%) and Pinot Gris to create this nonvintage assemblage, which is aged on the lees for 18 months and topped with a dosage to create a residual sugar of 1.28%. Dusty apple, lime juice and fresh caramel corn aromas transition into a fruit-driven, crisp and beautiful package of bubbles that hint at Bartlett pear, Granny Smith apple and Key lime. Consider enjoying this with clam dip, calamari or sashimi. This received a double gold at the 2015 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition.
