William Church Winery 2013 Viognier, Columbia Valley, $25

By on January 13, 2015

william-church-winery-logoThis wine is singing at a perfect pitch with lovely and complex aromas of peach, apricot, pineapple, joined by Circus Peanut candy, jasmine and shortbread. Inside, there’s a clean and bright entry with the variety’s telltale orange Creamsicle flavor, backed by white peach and dusty pear. It offers juicy acidity, a touch of minerality and even a bit of tannin. Last week, this same wine — which received a gold medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine Awards — earned a gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in Sonoma.

Rating: Outstanding!
