Best Buy! The Miller family in Prosser, Wash., has established the 70-year-old lonesome birch tree amid its World War II-era Airport Ranches Vineyard as a sign of affordable and quaffable red and white wines in the Pacific Northwest. And this vintage is a classic Washington-style Pinot Gris with aromas of starfruit, Asian pear, apricot and a touch of lychee. Those pear and apricot notes are presented in a juicy fashion as spritzy lime acidity and a finish of green banana combine to balance the residual sugar of 1.6%.
