Elevation Cellars 2013 Imperium Riesling, Columbia Valley, $17

By on May 23, 2015

Elevation-Cellars-Imperium-Riesling-2013-LabelWoodinville winemakers Steven Stuart and Matthew Loso work with one of the state’s top sites for Riesling — Lawrence Vineyards in the Frenchman Hills — for a delicious and off-dry expression that’s loaded with orchard fruit. It begins with aromas of lemon pudding, apricot, Mandarin orange, lime and baked Golden Delicious apple. The pour brings a heaviness of fresh apple sauce, backed by dried pineapple, more Mandarin orange and a zip of lime juice to deal with the 1.5% residual sugar.
