Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards 2012 Burning Desire Estate Cabernet Franc, Lake Chelan, $35

By on June 20, 2015

Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards-2013-Burning Desire Estate Cabernet FrancThe Phelpses cropped the fifth vintage of Cab Franc from their Salmon Safe site to 2.5 tons per acre, which allowed them to present an attractive version of this lesser-appreciated Bordeaux red. There’s nice toast, black currant, dusty cherry and sugared plum with menthol and earthiness to the nose. Inside, it’s a smooth entry of red currant and Bing cherry flavors backed by juicy tannins and lingering blueberry notes in the finish.
