Kyra Wines-2013-Chardonnay BottleBest Buy! This boutique Moses Lake, Wash., winery presents its Chardonnay in a crisp, food-friendly style. Kyra Baerlocher’s use of 25% French oak for six months still allows for a nose of dusty Granny Smith apple, nectarine and orange blossom with a pinch of fresh celery leaf. The brisk angle to the drink is reminiscent of a dry Riesling with flavors of white peach and lime peel with vibrant acidity. It picks up a touch of malolactic on the midpalate leading to the finish offers lingering notes of lemon and butterscotch.
