Barrister Winery 2013 Malbec, Walla Walla Valley, $32

By on August 20, 2015

Barrister Winery-2013-MalbecSpokane attorneys Greg Lipsker and Michael White have played a key role with the development of the downtown wine industry, and their latest release of Malbec does justice to that reputation. This begins with Summit View Vineyard, part of the acclaimed SeVein project in the Walla Walla Valley, and the lawyers’ use of French oak allows for aromas of Marionberry, smoked cherry, coffee, Weetabix biscuit, thyme and tar. The inky approach to the palate is mouth-filling with blackberry, blueberry and plum skins. Craftsmanship also shows with the juicy structure that makes room for the hints of toast and anise in the finish.
