David James Minick, a third-generation farmer in the Yakima Valley and founder of Willow Crest Winery in Prosser, collaborated with neighboring winemaker Ron Bunnell on this inaugural bottling for this new consumer-minded Precept brand. Bunnell worked with fruit from large parcels in Washington — Goose Ridge, Blackrock, Doval and Canyon Vineyard Ranch — to create a Cab that’s a very easy drink. Enticing aromas of black currant, dark plum, light chocolate, earthiness and cinnamon sugar lead to flavors of dark strawberry and black currant. Juicy acidity and delicious tannins lead to a sweet finish of vanilla.
