59. Chehalem 2012 Ian’s Reserve Chardonnay, Dundee Hills, $40

Screen Shot 2015-12-27 at 11.24.00 PMOwner Harry Peterson-Nedry named this Chardonnay in memory of his son Ian, so it always holds a special place in his heart and in his operation. It is a gorgeous wine from Stoller Vineyards that opens with aromas of applesauce, butterscotch candy, Bartlett pear and a hint of ginger. On the palate, it offers fantastic up-front acidity, along with Asian pear, nectarine, baked apple and a bit of lemon zest in the finish.

Rating: Outstanding!
