The Ponzi family uses certified sustainable farming methods for their Aurora and Avellana vineyards, and so do the nine other fruit sources for this bottling, which include Bieze, Gemini, Gran Moraine, Lazy River, Linda Vista, Sufi, Sunset View, Wahle and Zenith. An 11-month barrel program in 35% new French oak leads to complex aromas of dark cherry and black currant backed by milk chocolate, sweet herbs and a moist forest floor. Inside is a bright entry of boysenberry, Rainier cherry and cranberry flavors, leading to a structure of frontal tannins within a juicy finish of pomegranate and plum with caramel.
