joleté-wines-le-verre-cuvee-pinot-noir-2014-labelInspired by living on Ribbon Ridge, Oregon Pinot Noir producer Jim Sanders recently began to roll out stunning wines from the 2014 vintage, and his “Le Verre” effort – French for glass – under the bi-state Joleté brand ranks among his best efforts since its debut vintage of 2008. High tones of strawberries, smoked pie cherry, plum and cola take a slightly deeper angle with flavors of red currant, pomegranate and more plum. Notes of Baker’s chocolate with juicy Montmorency cherry in the finish make for a pleasant and darker farewell. It’s not easy to find a Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley of such quality at this price.
