Yamhill Valley Vineyards 2015 Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, $20

By on May 27, 2017

This vintage at the McMinnville, Ore., winery marked the 30th anniversary of the vineyard. Ariel Eberle’s Pinot Gris from the own-rooted Rainbow Block was taken Sept. 15 during the warmest growing season on record, she presents in an slightly off-dry style that’s ideal for the patio. Aromas of pear blossom, peach skin and Golden Delicious apple lead to a full-flavored white as sweet apricot and Bartlett pear lead to a deliciously tropical finish reminiscent of Juicy Fruit Gum.
