Seven Bridges Winery 2013 Resolution Red Wine, Walla Walla Valley, $28

By on June 28, 2017

Bob Switzer creates this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (88%) and Merlot almost under the shadow of Portland’s Fremont Bridge and just downstream from the headquarters of the Oregon Wine Board. However, the fruit source is from the Walla Walla Valley, with the Cab from Les Collines and the Merlot from Golden Ridge and Seven Hills. Classic aromas of sweet herbs, black cherry and black currant include toasted wood and eucalyptus. Dark purple flavors of blueberry and pomegranate bring along pleasing acidity, tannins akin to black currant skin and lead to a finish of chocolate and herbs. These wines are available in Portland at Fred Meyer stores, QFC and Zupan’s.
