House Wines 2016 Fish House Sauvignon Blanc, American, $12
While the American Viticultural Area listed on the back of the bottle reads “American,” grapes pulled from Washington’s Yakima Valley dominate the juice from this widely distributed Precept lineup. It doesn’t scream New Zealand, but it’s still driven by citrusy flavors akin to starfruit and lemon with a rub of tarragon and a trail of lime pulp in the finish. Enjoy with scallops, grilled chicken, roasted vegetables or basa poached in lime and nam pla. These wines are on shelves in the Northwest at Fred Meyer, QFC and Safeway/Albertsons and in the Northeast at Hannaford.
