AntoLin Cellars celebrates move into Yakima train station complex

YAKIMA, Wash. — AntoLin Cellars has moved its tasting room into the historic Burlington Northern train station complex and now is open weekly Thursday thru Sunday.
AntoLin winemaker Tony Haralson recently won double golds at the 2014 Seattle Wine Awards for the 2011 AntoLin Cellars Chardonnay and 2011 AntoLin Cellars Estate Riesling.
AntoLin Cellars owns the 5-acre Glacier Estate Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA which also is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Carmenère. The name AntoLin is a collective of the first names of winery owners Linda and Tony Haralson, who also make Merlot, Syrah and Viognier.
Tasting fees are $4 for a white flight, $6 for a red flight. There are four whites and five reds in each flight.

Thursday 3-8 p.m.
Friday 1-9 p.m.
Saturday 1-7 p.m.
Sunday noon-4 p.m.
Monday-Wednesday by appointment
Their new tasting room is in Burlington Northern’s station complex near Gilbert Cellars, just south of the former Northern Pacific station in Yakima, which was constructed in 1910. Amtrak’s Empire Builder passenger train served the city until it was rerouted through Wenatchee on Oct. 27, 1981. BNSF Railway now operates the line through Yakima, although only for freight trains.
This location is Yakima’s birthplace. When Northern Pacific Railroad created its depot here in 1884, Yakima City (now Union Gap) used teams of horses to slowly pull and roll the entire town to this location. Throughout history, the Yakima Depot served as the valley’s hub for passenger and freight service under the ownership of various railroads. Passenger service ceased in 1971, and the depot went through periods of disrepair and renovation. It is now owned by Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad.
