BOISE, Idaho — The Snake River Valley has grown into wine country, and the Idaho wine industry in and around Boise comes alive with Valentine’s Day weekend celebrations.
Dinner, Love Letters and Telaya wine at Riverside Hotel
GARDEN CITY — Toast and spoil your love on Valentine’s Day Eve with a four-course plated dinner at the Riverside Hotel in Garden City paired with Telaya wines. Co- winemakers Earl and Carrie Sullivan will provide wine education and answer wine questions.
Pre-performance music by Wayne White. Performance of Love Letters by Kevin and Becky Kimsay – a comedy about the relationship of two lifelong friends. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist A.R. Gurney.
The evening starts at 6 p.m. Friday. Dinner and performance-only seats available to everyone for $69 plus tax (includes gratuity).

Be Our Valentine with Sugar & Wine at Split Rail Winery
GARDEN CITY — Split Rail Winery at District 44 urban winery group in Garden City stages Be Our Valentine with Sugar & Wine from noon to 6 p.m. on Feb. 13-14. Three Split Rail wines will be paired with three sweet treats for a $7 tasting fee.
Valentine’s Bazaar at Indian Creek Winery
KUNA — Mike McClure, Tammy Stowe-McClure and the Indian Creek Winery family in Kuna will orchestrate their Valentine’s Bazaar from noon to 5 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, and a portion of their wine sales will benefit a Treasure Valley non-profit.
The day’s schedule of events begins at noon with a tasting of new releases and the El Gallo Giro food truck, Cupid’s red blending station, the Fleet Street Klezmer Band (1:30 p.m.), Hillfolk Noir (3 p.m.), Design Bandits live T-shirt printing, goat cheese, Darcy’s Baked Goods, Laurent Kistner Art Fluff and Celeste Jewelry. Entry is $10, but just $5 wine club members.
Sunnyslope Wine District
CALDWELL — Ste. Chapelle Chocolate and Wine offers relaxing in the beautiful Chateau Room overlooking the Snake River Valley. From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, dip into the winery’s chocolate fountain with pretzels, angel food cake, marshmallows and enjoy a decadent Valentine’s Day afternoon! Tasting fee is $10, which includes complimentary wine glass, wine tasting and chocolate fountain.
Fujishin Family Cellars offers complimentary tasting and Brix Chocolate paired with its wines, which includes the Lost West brand. Their tasting room in the historic fruit stand on Karcher Road will be open noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Huston Vineyards will celebrate the release of their 2014 Chicken Dinner White and 2012 Private Reserve Petite Sirah. Saturday Dream Chocolate will pair their delicious hand crafted chocolates with Huston wines. There also will be s’mores by the campfire, and the tasting room on Chicken Dinner Road is open noon to 5 p.m. Friday-Monday.
Local wine sisters, the Zhoo Zhoo girls, will host their annual Valentine Open House at Hells Canyon Winery on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature wine tastings, last of vintage and reserve wines from both Zhoo Zhoo and parent brand Hells Canyon, treats, and discounts on bottle and case purchases. Entry is $7 ($5 for wine club members).
Telaya and Coiled present Dance Your Heart Out
GARDEN CITY — Coiled Wines and Telaya Wine Co. collaborate at the District 44 urban winery group in Garden City and on Dance Your Heart Out for Valentine’s Night. Enjoy the tunes of Freudian Slip and the fresh pasta of Fresh Betty Spaghetti food truck. Coiled and Telaya will sell wine by the glass and bottle. This Valentine’s Day event runs 7-10 p.m. Cost is $10 per person at the door.
