Anelare 2010 Syrah, Columbia Valley, $39
By Great Northwest Wine on February 16, 2013
Winemaker Victor Cruz gained a reputation at his Cañon de Sol for Syrah, and he continues to make superb examples of the succulent red for Anelare. This uses grapes from West Hills and Gamache vineyards, and the greeting begins with aromas of spice, jerky, plum jam, boysenberry and a hint of oak. On the palate, it opens with a rich entry of blackberry and pomegranate backed with mild tannins and acidity. Enjoy with lamb, pork loin or ravioli.
