DiStefano Winery 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Valley, $19
By Great Northwest Wine on February 16, 2013
Mark Newton launched his Woodinville winery in the 1980s with the intention of focusing on sparkling wine. That has changed through the years, and he now produces superb Bordeaux- and Rhône-style wines. This delicious Sauvignon Blanc opens with pretty aromas of floral notes, lime, pineapple, Golden Delicious apple and lemon. On the palate, it offers tasty flavors of white pineapple, lemon and hints of jicama. It will pair beautifully with scallops, oysters, halibut or chicken.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 850 cases
Alcohol: 13.8%
