Sawtooth Estate Winery 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Snake River Valley, $14

By on March 24, 2013

Idaho wineBest Buy! Sawtooth is one of Idaho’s largest and oldest wineries. It was the only winery Precept in Seattle owned when it started the company in 2003, and Sawtooth continues to be one of its strongest produces of value wines. This Cab opens with aromas of dark chocolate and coconut – which immediately reminded us of a Mounds candy bar. On the palate, it’s a medium-bodied red with flavors of cherry, black olive and cedar, all backed with bold tannins for a big finish. It’s nicely priced for pairing with pizza on a Tuesday night.
