Ross Andrew Winery 2011 Meadow, Washington/Oregon, $18

By on July 17, 2013

Ross Andrew Winery makes a white blend called Meadow from Oregon and Washington grapes. This is an unusual wine because it includes grapes from Oregon’s Willamette Valley and the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge. It is a proprietary blend that leads with Pinot Blanc. It opens with luscious aromas of pear, Golden Delicious apple, white peach and pink grapefruit, followed by rich flavors of nectarine, pear and limze zest. It’s all backed with delicious roundness on the palate and a lengthy finish. It weighs in at nearly 2% residual sugar, which helps make it a candidate for Indian curries or medium-heat Thai dishes.
