woodinville-wine-cellars-l-m-s-malbec-2011-labelLast Man Standing is 100% Malbec — the Woodinville winery’s sixth bottling of the variety — and a product of Stillwater Creek Vineyard (75%) and nearby Conner Lee Vineyard in Othello, Wash. The influence of new French oak barrels by Vicard sets the tone with hints of cocoa and toasted walnut with Marionberry, dark plum and black Lincoln Stain Wax. Dark and bold fruit flavors dominate the palate with plum, blackberry and black cherry, framed by moderate tannins and cranberry acidity. These wines are available at fine wine merchants such as Compass, Esquin, McCarthy & Schiering, Pete’s and Wine World.
