Walla Walla natives Joe Grant and Doris Wood retired from the Bay Area, returned home and began to create small lots of remarkable wines at mind-boggling prices, regardless of the neighborhood. Here’s their largest production wine — which features both Les Collines and Seven Hills fruit — and they didn’t skimp on the oak treatment. Aromas and flavors of dark plum, blackberry and black cherry swirl inside milk chocolate and baking spices with lively pomegranate acidity.
