It creates aromas of blackberry cobbler with vanilla, backed by dark chocolate, toast, smoked sage and mincemeat spices. The drink is dark and dense with a continuation of blackberry and rich blueberry flavors amid a mild tannin structure and bright pomegranate acidity. Suggested fare includes barbecued ribs, pork and lamb chops with fennel, and this food-friendly wine earned a silver medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Awards.
