Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards 2012 Reserve Syrah, Lake Chelan, $40

By on August 4, 2015

Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards-2012-Reserve SyrahDon and Judy Phelps recently purchased their four vineyard, but they dedicated this Syrah to Cortelli Vineyard, which is where they’ve also sourced the Pinot Noir for their sparkling wine program. This two-barrel lot of Syrah, which they pulled Sept. 19, offers aromas of sugared plums, black cherry and black currant with notes of licorice and horehound. On the pour, there are more plums with blueberries, backed by dark chocolate, cherry skin tannins and a lingering boysenberry finish.
