Drink Washington State 2014 Groovin’ On Cabernet Sauvignon, Wahluke Slope, $26

By on July 4, 2017

Brad Binko, proud alum of Walla Walla Community College’s winemaking program, continues to enjoy his first full year as a vintner under his Eternal Wines/Drink Washington State banners. The certified somm from the East Coast uses small additions of Cabernet Franc and Carmérnère to add complexity, finesse and Old World charm to this offering of cherry, vanilla and rose petals. Fine-grained bittersweet chocolate tannins and a pulse of huckleberry acidity make it easy drinking, yet there’s the background for longer life. First tasted last fall, his largest production wine is coming together nicely, and Binko enjoys this with Chicken Parmesan.
